Open Mellon A.E. participates as a partner in the project “Application of Infrared Thermography Technologies (Thermal Camera) as a Means of Rapid Diagnosis of Subclinical Mastitis: Improving Welfare and Production Indicators on Sheep and Goat Farms / TherMaSheep”.

The project applies modern on-site diagnostic tools, in line with the requirements of contemporary livestock farming practice, in areas of the Region of Thessaly and the Region of Western Macedonia. The aim is to improve milk production and the welfare of sheep, and to reduce the cost of managing mastitis through its rapid and early diagnosis using a thermal camera.

The partnership consists of: Open Mellon A.E.; the School of Veterinary Medicine of the University of Thessaly (Coordinating body); the Elassona Sheep and Goat Farmers’ Cooperative; and the Amyntaio Area Sheep and Goat Farming Cooperative.
