Open Mellon A.E. participates as a partner in the project “OEZIZ: Precision Weed Control Using Innovative Robotic Systems”.
The overall aim of the proposed Action is to protect the environment and biodiversity by reducing pesticide inputs used to control weeds in row crops, through the application of state-of-the-art precision weed-control technologies.

The partnership consists of: Open Mellon — Education, Consulting & Business Incubator A.E.; the University of Thessaly — Laboratory of Networks and Telecommunications (Coordinating body); Panagopoulou Georgia; POLYTECH S.A.; the Technology Transfer Office of the University of Thessaly; and Nikolaos Perifanos.
Within the project, Open Mellon A.E. is responsible for:
- Transferring the know-how required to achieve the reduction in pesticide use, in line with the project's objectives.
- Collaborating with the Coordinating body and the other members of the Partnership for the installation of the necessary equipment in the field.
- Participating in all types of information meetings organised by the Coordinating body.
- Regularly monitoring the innovative weed-control practices and leveraging the resulting data to provide holistic advisory support to participating producers.
- Participating, together with the Coordinating body, in selected networking and dissemination activities for the project's results.
